Target Finds

Happy Veterans day y'all!!

To celebrate this special day we went to one of my most favorite places...Target!!! That place is ah-mazing. It's one of those stores where you can find really great stuff for your house without spending a fortune like you would at Pottery Barn. Today I was on the hunt for some comfy big sweaters and leggings and I am happy to report that I was very successful in my mission. While I was there I noticed that they had lots of stuff out for Christmas and I lost my mind y'all. So I started taking pictures like any normal person would do (or not) so that I could find a place for everything in my house. The hubs thinks I'm crazy but I honestly loved EVERYTHING this year!! So lets take a look shall we
I love the turquoise and fun colors and I am such a sucker for wreaths and trees.

I really love the warm and fuzzy feeling I got from some of this decor and I am obsessed with anything mirrored so I was crazy for the end table and mirrored trees.
I think that the earthy bird ornaments are so sweet and would make such beautiful additions to  anyone's tree. The pillows were to die for!! I wanted them all so badly and I can promise you will see some of them on my couch this year!! They also had some really great options for holiday dishes that weren't crazy expensive. You could have a fabulous holiday party with these!!

Okay this just made me laugh. Who in their right mind wouldn't want an inflatable wreath?! That is as classy as it gets. This would make a hilarious gag gift =)

So that's it for today and I hope y'all had a fabulous Veterans day and until next time HAPPY FALL Y"ALL!!!!

Halloween/Fall Chalkboard Pumpkin

Hi Y'all,

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!! I can not believe that it's already November. Yikes! where did the time go?! This is the time of year when we break out the fall decorations and start thinking about mass quantities of food :) at least I do!

I came up with a cute chalkboard pumpkin decoration to out outside my door to write cute thanksgiving esque quotes or messages on and I love how it turned out! it's a super simple project :)

All it takes is a fake pumpkin from michaels, a leaf garland, and some chalkboard paint. Simple right?!

Just for fun heres a picture of my precious fam dressed up for halloween :)

Now it's time for me to focus on Christmas decorations!!  See yall next time :)

DRY ERASE CALENDAR AND MENU

Hi Y'all,

So I can't even tell you how excited I was to get this project started. Getting organized and creating a "command center" has been at the top of my to-do list for awhile now, but I wasn't exactly jumping at the bit to get it done. I mean typical dry erase calendars aren't very cute and they sure don't look like anything I wanted to hand on the wall. THEN I fell in love with these whimsical frames and I just knew what I wanted to do with them. Our pantry door is now a turquoise color so I plan to hang the menu plan on that door. I held it up just to see how it would look and its so stinking cute I can't even stand it. Plus I can write what we are having for dinner for the week and keep a running list of what we need from the store, something that we seriously needed. We are the worst at forgetting one or two things from the store!!

We are in the middle of redoing our kitchen and we have a open floor plan so our kitchen and living room accent colors are turquoise and yellow. So this baby is PERFECT for us. Yay. I love a happy ending. Now we just have to build our desk and shelves and I can hang this on the wall and we will officially be ORGANIZED. I will be sure to post quite a bit about our amazing kitchen transformation as well as how we build the desk and shelves =) Hope this helps some of y'all get some ideas for your own organization projects!!

See y'all next time

Deco Mesh Halloween Wreath

Deco Mesh is a glorious, glorious thing!! So glorious in fact that I used it to make this super fun Halloween wreath. It's a pretty simple wreath compared to the craziness that's out there in the deco mesh wreath world. All you need is a wire frame, deco mesh, and whatever extra fun stuff you want to add. I chose to add ribbon and my glittery boo sign. If you have trouble finding a wire frame you can easily make one from wire and pipe cleaners =)

Now there are literally hundreds of tutorials out there that show you how to use deco mesh to make a wreath so I wont bore you with mine. I promise you it's super easy and fool proof and such a fun way to decorate for the Holidays. Starting in November I am going to have a Deco Mesh series to show y'all just how much you can do with deco mesh and how to get that big wow factor using it!! Yay fun!!

See y'all next time

Halloween Decor

So lets talk Halloween Y'all =)

Every year we try to pick up a few new decorations to add to our collection, but I also like to make some as well. I am addicted to DIY projects and crafting in general so the holiday season is my absolute fave time of year. Now as much as my hubby would like to put up the super scary blood and guts kind of Halloween, we have two little ones and that just wont fly. SO we do the cutesy Halloween decorations which is FINE BY ME (every time we watch a scary movie we have to immediately watch a Disney movie or I'll have nightmares. Lame I know). Here is what I made this year with the help of my baby girl.
The mirrors we had made a few months back as a knock off Pottery Barn type thing and were ridiculously easy to do. I took some burlap fabric from my local fabric store and stenciled Trick Or Treat onto them to hang over the mirrors. I then added polka dots because they have a special place in my heart and I'd add them to everything if my hubby allowed it. I covered some old ugly frames with scrapbook paper (LOVE modpodge!!) and did the same with a little bird house from Michaels. The glass canister is also from Michaels and I usually fill it with Halloween candy. Then I took some old bottles and glued cute poison labels onto them. You could absolutely add green food coloring to water to fill them with but I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm slacking I know. Then all I did was lay more burlap down on the table and voila =) super cute if you ask me.

So lets talk about my mantle. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who you ask) there is a giant T.V. sitting atop my glorious mantle. So anything tall is out of the question. Boo. So my decorating challenge is constantly trying to find ways to decorate my mantle without blocking the ever so precious television. So this year I just put a few pages of scrap book paper in shadow boxes and threw them up there with some garland and glittered Halloween decor =) not the most fabulous Halloween mantle but it works.

I hope this gives some of y'all some ideas for your Halloween decor!! I am working on a chalkboard pumpkin situation to put outside the door to greet people so stay tuned for that =)

Happy Halloween Y'all

A girls gotta get her bead on...

I recently have decided to take on jewelry making because, well why not, and it has be ah-may-zing. I love making jewelry and being the dork that I am I have spent hours pouring over different beads and leather so that I can come up with new and fun designs. It's pretty spectacular. Anytime I find something that I really enjoy I put my entire heart and soul into it, and really I think that's how it should be =) So for your viewing pleasure I'm going to go ahead and photo bomb you with some of the stuff I've been working on lately. Enjoy!!

XOXO

D.I.Y. bedazzled makeup brushes...SO CUTE!!

Hi Y'all

Sometimes a girl just needs a little bling in her life. I have to admit that, given the chance, I will try to add rhinestones to just about anything (Oh yeah my husband just looooves that lol) but this time I found the PERFECT project. Bedazzled makeup brushes! What better to make super sparkly? I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't think of this sooner. I love making things my own and if you have a vanity table this is PERFECT for you. These would look so stinkin' cute in a glass container and makes doing your makeup that much more fun =)

All you need are:

1. Your makeup brushes. I use my sigma brushes. (If you don't have those or know what they are you NEED to check them out they are no joke!!)

2.Rhinestones, scrapbook paper, fabric...Anything that you want to cover your brushes with. I just used left overs from other projects so don't feel like you need to go out and buy a ton of stuff. Recycle!!

3. Glue. Now I used Gem Tack just because I have good luck with it but I'm sure you can use any craft glue as long as you use some kind of sealant afterward.

I even went ahead and used some old scrapbook paper to cover my MAC eyeshadow palette. I have found that the most important part is to make sure that you use Modpodge to seal everything once your done. So get out there and bedazzle something!!

xoxo
